The big monsters to look for here are the Imps and Crush Beasts. They'll just open a Town Portal and go home. The barbarians aren't going to help you, unfortunately. Look for white fenced areas on the automap and destroy the door. Your award is the addition of a socket to any item you own.Īrea: Frigid Highlands You need to rescue the barbarians. They explode once they reach their target. They attack faster and do more damage (look for the red aura). Later on, you'll encounter Lashers, which are vicious, vicious creatures with whips - they'll whip Accursed into a frenzy - avoid these guys if possible. Each one fires various elemental charges into your general vicinity for splash damage. On your automap, look for red areas shaped into small rings with bridges - these are catapult locations. You'll also meet Death Maulers, which look a lot like Accursed, but which have an additional distance attack. Upon exiting you'll see the aftermath of a bloody battle, a couple of automated barbarians, and lots and lots of Accursed, which are the grunts of the game. You're almost certain to gain five or six levels by the end of the this quest, which is a plus, but take a lot of breaks or you're going to sprain your mouse fingers.Īrea: Bloody Foothills This is the first quest, which is to stop the siege of catapults. It's not necessarily hard, but the sheer number of enemies will have you wading through the dead by the end of an area. It has six new quests, a great number of new sections, and a new end-boss - Baal. This section only covers the fifth mission included in the expansion pack.
